Converting a Parking Lot to a Playground

Playgrounds can be created from a simple empty parking lot. While encouraging children to play in a parking lot isn’t the safest idea, converting a parking lot to a playground is an excellent idea. This playground we constructed in Bronx, New York was just that. The empty parking lot you see in the photos was transformed from a blank space to a brand new (and accessible) playground using poured in place rubber surfacing. The playground play structure and dome were first surface mounted directly to the existing asphalt parking lot. We then installed a colorful new poured in place surface complete with a tricycle track!
